VEDRUNA SISTERS FORMALLY WELCOMED, CONVENT INAUGURATED:

Vedruna Sisters are formally welcomed to serve in the Diocese of Bellary during a prayer service on May, 22, 2025 at 10 a. m, at Karunalaya, Infant Jesus Group of Educational Institutions, Vidyanagar, Raichur. Presently the Sisters have started with the education mission at Infant Jesus Institutions, Vidyanagar, Raichur. It marks a significant chapter not just for the Vedruna Sisters but for the entire community of Raichur.

“With the establishment of this new Religious Community at Raichur, the Sisters opt for a transformative mission focused on education, healthcare and social development” said Bishop Henry, Bishop of Bellary on the occasion.

During the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Henry, preached the homily on St. Joaquina Vedruna, Foundress of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity- Vedruna and invited all to embrace the virtues exemplified by St. Joaquina.

Rev. Sr. Daisy Cyriac, Provincial Superior declared open the new community of Vedruna Sisters in Raichur by cutting the ribbon.

Fr Sam Nalan, Manager, IJS introduced the Vedruna Sisters to all those present. Bishop Henry D’Souza, Sr. Daisy Cyriac, Provincial, Sr. Dorothy Michael, Provincial Councillor, Fr. Sam Nalan, Manager of Infant Jesus Group of Institutions, Fr. Mari Swamy, Manager of Infant Jesus Group of Colleges, Fr.Robert Paul, Fr. Yuvaraj and Mr. Benjamin John graced the function.

The dignitaries welcomed Karunalaya Community members namely Sr. Veronica, Sr. Leena Fernandes, Sr. Shital, Sr. Neelam, Sr.Albina and Sr. Deepika and wished them all the best for their future mission in Raichur. Mr. Vasanth Kumar, MLC, Raichur attended the function and assured the Vedruna Sisters of his support and best wishes for the success of all their future endeavors. The staff of both Infant Jesus schools and colleges, students and parishioners of Vidya Nagar graced the function.

Sr Veronica, the Co-Ordinator, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed for their arrival at Raichur.

Sr. Veronica, the Co-ordinator, thanked all those present. Bishop Henry D’Souza, the Bishop of Bellary, acknowledged the initiative of Frs. Sam Nalan, Yuvaraj, Marisamy D, the Engr. Mr. Benjamin, and their entire team. The event concluded with a communal meal.
