"Training of Trainers “ ( ToT) launched by Diocesan Women Commission:

Bellary: 13 SEPT 2026

Bellary Diocesan Women Commission has launched a “ Training of Trainers” ( ToT) program on 13 th September, 2026 at St Antony’s Community Center, Cantonment, Ballari.

Around 70 Women leaders from Ballari City and its surrounding areas participated in the day long program. Ms. Anita Frank, National resource person and Ms. Mercy Menezes, Karnataka Regional Resource person of the Women Commission and Ms. Manoranjini , Advocate , Karnataka High Court , Bangalore led the sessions on Gender sensitivity ,POSCO and POSH acts.

Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary urged the participants to recognize the dignity of women and to promote spiritual, social and economic empowerment of women in their milieu. He asked the women leaders to effectively participate in decision making roles within ecclesial and social structures.

The participants were rejuvenated by the sessions conducted by Ms. Anita Frank and Ms. Mercy Menezes on Gender sensitisation and Women Empowerment. They pledged to promote gender equality, equal rights and opportunities starting from their own families and circles.

Ms Manoranjini, enlightened the women leaders about the POCSO Act, to protect the children from sexual abuse, harassment and exploitation. Also, POSH act to protect woman from sexual harassment at their workplace. The right of women to have a safe and respectful workplace.

The leadership of Ms Sheela Das, the Secretary of Bellary Diocesan Women Commission, Ms. Josphine, Ms. Maria, Sr Jancy, FS and other members of the Commission was much applauded.
