Silver Jubilee of Erection of Laverna Monastery celebrated: Amaravathi, T B Dam, 14 Oct, 2025

La Verna Monestery, Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration celebrated Silver Jubilee of its erection with solemnity and fervor here at Amaravathi Village, TB Dam Parish at 11.00 a.m. on 14 Oct, 2025.

A Solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Henry D Souza, Bishop of Bellary along with many priests from the diocese was the culmination of the event. In his homily Bishop D’Souza called the Adoration Monastery as the “Spiritual Power House of the Diocese”. Around 500 people from all walks particularly from Hospet and T B Dam area participated.

At that occasion Bishop Joseph D’Silva, Bishop of Bellary (1992-2006), Fr Vincent Rodrigues, Mark Gonsalves and Sisters of Poor Clares who were instrumental to establish the monastery were gratefully recalled. Congratulations to Sr Mary Loretta and her community. All the sisters were felicitated with Jubilee Shawls. The programme concluded with a fraternal meal.
