JUBILEE AN EXTRAORDINARY MOMENT TO RENEW, REFRESH AND REFORM ONE’S LIFE:

Sr. Viola Furtado, FHIC celebrated silver jubilee of her religious life at St Mary’s Convent, Cantonment, Bellary on 24 th May, 2025. Formerly Sr. Viola served the diocese of Bellary as St Mary’s Convent Community leader and St Mary’s Hospital Administrator. Presently as the member of the FHIC Community at Ballari, she renders service in St Mary’s Hospital, Daya Kendra and Christ the King Parish, Cantonment. She is also the Secretary for diocesan Health Commission. Her service along with Franciscan Hospitaller Sisters of Immaculate Conception of Bellary, to the poor and downtrodden, particularly the leprosy patients at Daya Kendra and their immediate family members at Ballari is much appreciated.

In his homily at the Holy Eucharist, the Bishop said “Our vocation is strengthened each moment through the personal encounter with Jesus by faithfully following him till the last breath of life”.

Realizing that the of vocations arise from families with profound faith and strong bonding, the bishop urged families to renew family prayers and sharing the Word of God in the family.

Sr Danis Mary, Superior of FHIC community at Ballari welcomed everyone present and Sr Viola, FHIC, jubilarian proposed the Vote of thanks.

The jubilee celebration was well attended by a large number of priests, Religious and family members and friends of Sr Viola. The celebration concluded with a brief felicitation program and a fraternal meal.
