MULKEY, NOV 2: Over 800 youth participated enthusiastically in the four day YOUVOTSAV held at Divine Retreat Centre, at Mulkey, close to Mangalore, Oct. 29-Nov.1.
“Strive for excellence in all fields” through courage and faith”, urged Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary and Chairman of Youth Commission of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI).
Bishop urged the cheering youth “to fearlessly declare their friendship with Jesus, be loyal to the Church and work for social transformation by contributing their mite”.
“It’s through the close relationship with Jesus who called disciples his friends, the youth of today can be happy and fulfilled and become capable of striving excellence in life”, declared Bishop D’Souza.
Well chosen animators like Fr. Roman Pinto, youth director of Shimoga, Bro. Jude Antoine, Fr. Anil D’Souza, youth director of Mangalore, Fr. Nelson Pinto, OCD, Spiritual Director Mangalore Charismatic Movement, Fr. Vijay Victor Lobo, vocation director of Mangalore, and Fr. Nelson Pinto ably animated the sessions.
Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu, vicar general of Mangalore inaugurated the Yuvotsav and Bishop of Mangalore A.P. D’Souza presided over the concluding Eucharist.
The wellknown Jesus Youth leaders and their Rex Band made the youth meet vibrant and inspiring.
