BELLARY, AUG. 01: The first Bishop of Amravati Diocese in Maharashtra Joseph Albert Rosario msfs left us for his heavenly abode on Sunday 31st of July 2011 at 11.25 a.m.
He was born on 30th May 1915 and ordained priest on 29th September 1944. He was appointed Bishop of Amravati on 8th May 1955 and consecrated Bishop on 13th November 1955.
He retired from active pastoral ministry in 1995 at the age of 80. Thereafter, he celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Episcopal Ordination on 13th November 2005.
His funeral will be held at the St Francis Xavier cathedral, Amravati on Aug. 2. May His Soul rest in Peace!
