BELLARY, MAY 23: Mother Mary Patricia of the Poor Clares celebrated the Golden Jubilee of her religious life with solemnity and fervor here at La Verna Monastery, Hospet, Bellary Diocese.
Bishop of Bellary Henry D’Souza presided over the solemn celebrations in the monastery situated on the right bank of TB Dam canal, near the hiuge TB Dam itself.
In his homily Bishop D’Souza called the Adoration Monastery as the “Spiritual Power House of the Diocese” and appreciated the services of Mother Mary Patricia.
Christened as Lorna Colaco in 1935, is the beloved daughter of late Isidore Colaco and late Dulcine Pais of Bendore, Mangalore.
God called her to follow Him closely as Religious in the Congregation of the Poor Clares and she joined the Adoration Monastery at Quilon on Dec. 20, 1957.
She made her first religious profession on Dec. 21, 1961.
Marching steadfastly, Mother Mary Patricia spent in silence and prayer 22 years at the Poor Clares Adoration Monastery in Quilon and the next 22 years at Vellore Monastery.
She moved to the Adoration Monastery in La Verna, Hospet, Bellary in 2001.
Jubilarian’s brothers Alwyn and Walter and her sister Josephine and their families participated joyfully in the celebration.



The Shrine of Bellary Arogya Mathe was blessed and dedicated on 8th September 2000 on the feast of the Nativity of our Blessed Mother Mary in memory of the great jubilee 2000 and the Golden Jubilee of the Diocese of Bellary
