BELLARY, NOV. 05: “Catholic institutions should be driven by dreams and Christian values”, declared Bishop Henry D’Souza of Bellary on Nov. 04 here at Bellary.
Bishop D’Souza was inaugurating a workshop for managers of Catholic schools and parish priests of the diocese attending a day’s workshop on “Management and Best Accounting Practices” organized by the Bellary Diocese Board of Education (BDBE).
“It’s leaders driven by vision and mission make the institutions of excellence. Without such leaders, institutions are only mere structures”, observed Bishop D’Souza.
“Jesus was fired by a vision of God’s Kingdom and he was consistently committed to his mission with values of the Kingdom. He communicated his vision to his disciples and enlisted their total commitment”, added Bishop.
“The leaders of today need to be driven by such a dream and build up human teams to build excellent institutions. Such a work can be done only through a passionate love for people and transparent administration of resources both human and material”, observed Bishop D’Souza.
“New technologies and computer based accounting procedures are a boon to modern administrators and managers of institutions”, added Bishop D’Souza.
45 school managers and parish priests participated in the programme.
Secretary of BDBE, Fr Arokianathan welcomed the gathering and introduced the programme, which was held at the BDBE Office, Bellary.
