BELLARY, OCT. 09: The situation remains grim in Siruguppa, especially the 5 villages namely Gudanaal, Sridaragadde, Honnali, Chikka Bellary, and Hachooli which are on the river banks of Tungha Badra.
Medical team and relief workers led by BDDS Director Fr. Paul Raj visited the five villages with medical care and relief material.
The team was shell shocked to see no trace of village habitation around the place! The houses have been engulfed by the Tungabhadra floods!
The people are living in temporary shelters along the road, in schools and in open fields.
All most all the houses in the villages are destroyed and one could even say “the villages are washed away!”
The people from this area are SCs, STs and Kurubas belonging to about 1000 families.
Most of the children were found sick, necessitating immediate medical care.
The team of doctors and nurses from Assisi Hospital at Hagari Bommana Halli provided the much needed medical care Honnali, Bellary District.
