BELLARY, SEP. 05: The Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa Sisters) celebrated the 12th anniversary of the death of Blessed Mother Teresa, their founder.
With over 150 of the inmates who are mostly physically challenged and almost all of them from the poorest sections of the society and a large number of local faithful joined the five MC Sisters to “thank and praise God” for the “wonderful gift” of Mother Teresa to the congregation and to humanity.
Bishop Henry D’Souza who presided over the concelebrated Eucharist, thanked the MC Sisters for their “unconditional service to the poorest of the poor and for the unreserved service with love”.
He urged the Catholics and the public not to neglect the poor and to support the noble work by the sisters.
Many priests and religious from the Bellary city joined the Bishop in thanking the MC Sisters for their dedicated service to the poor and the needy.
Mr. Francis Babu, a local philanthropist sponsored a meal for the poor on the occasion.
