A brief history of the parish
The new Mission unit of Maski was started in 1969 with Fr. Thomas J. D'souza as its first parish priest, pooling together some sub-stations of Mudgal, Jawalgera and Kowtal Parishes. Fr.Thomas D'Souza, first stayed in a rented house and later a plot of land was bought on which a thatched house was built. Fr. Thomas D'souza moved into that cottage with Fr. Evangelist Betts OFM as his assistant. The church and presbytery were built during Fr. Thomas D'Souza in 1975 and the church was renovated in 1999.Now there is a boarding house and a Nursery and Primary School attached to the parish. In the view of up-gradation of the school into higher primary, the present first floor of the school building was built by Fr. Lourdusamy T. The new school building was constructed with assistance from Manos Unidas under the leadership of Fr. O. Vincentand blessed by Bishop Henry D'Souza on 2August, 2014. The present parish priest Fr. Chinnappa Yemmy has started the construction of a new church, which is in progress.
