Over 100 Candidates Benefit From Pre-Cana Course In Bellary
BELLARY, JAN 26:

A three-day Pre-Cana preparation course was held on Jan. 24-26, 2021 for the marriageable young men and women at St. Antony’s Pastoral Center, Ballari.

Over 100 young persons from different parts of the diocese participated. It was ably animated by the Diocesan Family Commission. It is obligatory for brides and bridegrooms to participate in such course before presenting themselves for celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage.

Certificates were issued at the end of the course which is valid for two years. Bishop appreciated and thanked Frs. Gananprakash L, Family Commission Secretary and others resource persons Frs. John Peter, Anil Kumar, Alphonse George, Anselm Sunil, Ivan Pinto, Jolly SDB, N.A. Vincent, Cyril Lasrado and Ms. Anitha and Manjula.

On the final day Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary addressed the participants, “marriage the life time commitment is call of God and requires openness to life.”

Reminding the words of Pope Francis, Bishop D’Souza urged the participants to make love central to life and always be polite. He exhorted them to be always kind and polite, using phrases: “please, thank you and sorry” often. Bishop also stressed on the need of making Jesus Christ centre of family life and giving due importance to prayer and word of God in daily family life.

Bishop also requested the candidates for marriage to promote vocations to priesthood and religious life.
