Deacon Arogya Dani ordained a priest
BELLARY, 15 MAY 2023:



Bishop Henry D’Souza , Bishop of Bellary, ordained Deacon Arogya Dani a priest for the Diocese of Bellary on 15 May, 2023 at St. Antony’s Cathedral, Bellary

The ordination ceremony begun with Rector, Fr. Alphonse George presenting the candidate to ordaining prelate. The solemn celebration was attended by large number of priests, religious and lay faithful of the diocese.

“Jesus declared, “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you that you may bear abundant fruit,” reminded the Bishop in his homily.

“A priest through his sanctifying ministry leads the people to holiness,” stated the Bishop.

“A priest, as a person chosen by God, has to bear witness through his life and ministry – through a life of compassion, mercy, forgiveness, humility and hard work,” reminded the Bishop.

Bishop Henry D’Souza thanked the parents of the new priest for offering their son to the service of the Church, and urged the lay faithful to love, respect and cooperate with their pastors to build vibrant parish communities.

Bishop urged the people to pray for more vocations to priesthood and religious life and to encourage young boys and girls to heed the call of call to serve the Church.

At the end of the Mass newly ordained Fr. Arogya Dani thanked the Triune God for leading him to the Altar and thanked the Bishop, the Rector and all the formators, parents and relatives who accompanied them closely and directed him promptly.
