Bellary Diocese launches Ambulance Services for Poor
Bellary, 18 FEB. 2023:



Ambulance service for the poor was launched by the Catholic Diocese of Bellary on 18 February 2023.

Bishop Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary blessed the new ambulance and placed it under the auspices of BDDS, the diocesan social development society.

The ambulance is gifted by PMS, Archdiocese of New York in loving memory of Marie and George Doty.

Bellary Diocesan Development Society (BDDS) is the social development wing of Bellary Diocese.

Fr. Yagappa, the Director of BDDS said at the occasion that the new facility would be mainly to transport the sick to hospital and to give emergency medical support.

The ambulance service is available to everyone who is need at nominal charges.

The ambulance is equipped with life supporting equipments like oxygen concentration etc.

Sr. Rosy Coutinho, Provincial of Dharwad Province, Sisters of Charity who was present at the occasion and launched the ambulance services.

Bishop thanked the donors and all those who brought the ambulance from Bangalore to Bellary particularly Mr. Monoj Kumar and Fr. Yagappa.

He wished the Director and his team at BDDS to do best in service of the poor and needy through ambulance.
